Job Failure

Your job ended with an error — here's how to find the cause and fix it.

If you only have 2 minutes

Click on the failed job and open the Log tab. Find the error code, look it up in Error Codes, and follow the fix.

Reading the log

Dr.Q shows a summary with the error code when a job fails. Click "Details" for the full log with timestamps and error descriptions. The most relevant line is usually near the end of the log.

Typical causes

| Cause | Fix | | --- | --- | | Memory limit exceeded (model too large) | Coarsen the mesh, simplify geometry | | Time limit reached (nonlinear too slow) | Reduce load steps, coarsen mesh | | Solver error (singular matrix, no convergence) | See Error Codes | | Invalid input data (material, boundary conditions) | Review setup, check units |

Next steps

  1. Look up the error code in Error Codes
  2. Simplify the model or coarsen the mesh
  3. Adjust solver settings
