Model
- Geometry simplified (small features removed)?
- Scale correct (mm)?
- All bodies present?
Mesh
- Mesh generated and visually checked?
- Mesh quality acceptable (skewness, aspect ratio)?
- Local refinement at critical locations?
Boundary conditions & loads
- Boundary conditions physically meaningful?
- No rigid body movement possible?
- Loads correct (direction, magnitude, unit)?
- Unit system consistent throughout?
Contact
- Contact pairs defined for all touching parts?
- No initial penetration?
- Contact type appropriate (bonded vs frictional)?
After checking all boxes
If everything is green, submit the job. If you're unsure about any item, resolve it before running: a failed or implausible result costs more time than a thorough pre-check.
